Gabrielle F. Hanley, 93, of Warren

Gabrielle F. (Paquin) Hanley, 93, of Warren, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Manor in Bristol. She was the wife of the late William A. Hanley. She was born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Victor and Blanche (Lariviere) Paquin.

Gabrielle was a teacher for the Warren School Department for a few years, before she stopped teaching to raise her family. She was a Warren resident all of her life, and a parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church.

Mrs. Hanley enjoyed playing tennis and reading. She was on the PTA for the Warren schools, and was also the head of the PTA for a while, and member of the scholarship foundation. Gabrielle was also a volunteer for the Heart Association.

Mrs. Hanley is survived by children William A. Hanley II and his wife Mary of Bristol, John W. Hanley and his wife Jennifer of Warren, Diane Soares and her husband Richard Bitwinski of Warren, Susan Medeiros and her late husband David of Bristol, Gabrielle Samson and Walter of Cranston, and Julie A. Coelho and her husband R. Shawn of Warren; her brother, Richard Paquin of Tiverton; and her sister, Anne Maria Pianka of Tarpon Springs, Fla.

She was the grandmother of 17, and the great-grandmother of 22, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Normand O. Paquin, and the late Monique Paquin, and late Simonne Paquin.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at 8:30 a.m. from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
