Five girls from East Bay Gymnastics captured the Level 5 championship at the recent Rhode Island State Gymnastics Meet.

Barrington's Katie LeBlanc, Ally Jamieson and Lily DaPonte, Warren's Maria Tucciarone, and Bristol's Carolyn Nash teamed up for the first place finish for East Bay Gymnastics.

East Bay finished with a team score of 107.325, while Tiverton's Team Envy finished second with 98.875 points.

"We've had these kids for a while. They did a nice job," said East Bay Gymnastics' Liz Fudge. "They've been competing and now we're trying to get them into the upper levels."

Katie LeBlanc also finished first in the all-around with a score of 36.075. The Barrington girl was tops in the floor competition with a 9.25.

East Bay girls also boasted wins in other events — Lily DaPonte won the bars with a 9.075, and Carolyn Nash won the beam with a 9.15. Maria Tucciarone was fifth in the all-around.
