We’ve made great strides with our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, but a strong college prep program and partnerships with our business community will play an increasingly vital role as we focus on preparing students for challenging careers.
To that end, we are continuing to build our CTE program, which enables students to engage in hands-on, project- and career-based learning that lets them apply academics to real world problems.
For the last 3 years, the district has been meeting with business owners, students and community members, redesigning workspaces at the school, and replacing obsolete equipment with tech that’s relevant to today’s jobs in business, engineering, design and robotics.
Moving forward, we must continue to foster relationships with community businesses. We must also be mindful of the importance of college prep classes, as changes in the labor market and an increasingly automated economy will require that many of our CTE grads have some kind of postsecondary training or degree.
