Business leaders from across Rhode Island met at Warren’s AVTECH Wednesday evening to talk about the state of business in the Ocean State, and to discuss international trade possibilities and partnerships here.
AVTECH’s Michael and Anne Sigourney co-sponsored the reception and talk along with Richard Grundy, AVTECH’s president. The night was billed as a chance to celebrate and promote Rhode Island manufacturing and growth through international trade sales, and it drew more than 100 East Bay and state business leaders and politicians. It was co-sponsored by CommerceRI and Bryant University.
Mr. Sigourney, who has built a large network of international contacts and does business in more than 85 percent of the the world’s nations, enlisted speakers to talk on the expanding role of manufacturing in Rhode Island and the positive impact of previous and upcoming state-sponsored international trade missions, of which AVTECH has been a part.
It has been a busy year for the technology company Mr. Sigourney, a Warren resident, founded three decades ago. The firm was recently named one of the best small businesses to work for in the United States, and the Warren Town Council honored Mr. Sigourney during its November meeting for AVTECH’s business and work environment.
