5. RAGE HD
RAGE HD is a first-person rail shooter that places you in a post-apocalyptic game show where you must shoot and kill hungry mutants. The controls are perfect with the most amazing graphics. This game would have been my number one pick if it was longer. The gameplay is intense at times, and with shorter gameplay, which makes the game fly by. Its now only $1.99 which is a great price. This game will tie you over until the release of the console version this Fall.

You must battle your way through the God King’s castle defeating his minions. You can find items and gold hidden throughout the game which will aid your quest. Upgrade your weapons and armor and learn spells to conquer this game. The game has a rail-style feel where cut scenes take you through the different sections of the game. You can, however, look around a see this amazing world. When in battles, the game switches to a more traditional fight-style. The story is really cool but can be short. Luckily, the deep character customization and game center integration will keep players coming back.

Dah Dah Dah Dah! And now for our #1 iPad game.
1. Dead Space for iPad
Voted “Best Mobile Game of the Year!” (2011 Meffy Awards), Dead Space is one of the most amazing iPad games. The graphics are as good or better than some consoles and most handhelds. The level detail, lighting and audio experience is just amazing. This, for me, is a game changer for mobile gaming. A high standard has been set for mobile games. It is an original story and not a port like other console games. Players are immersed in a scary 3D environment and must battle their way through some amazing levels. Character customization has been ramped up for this title with so many weapons and armor upgrades. Hidden power nodes and credits can be found throughout the game which will help you to upgrade your gear.
What I really enjoy with this title is that you can completely explore each level. If I find a hidden node, I can go back to a previous section of the level to unlock rooms and get special items. I’m not stuck in a linear gaming environment like most mobile games. There is also tons of downloadable content and game modes which makes this feel just like a console game. This is by far the best iPad game and a must have.
Dead Space is available on iPad and can be purchased on the App Store. An iPhone version is also available.
