Professional photographer Arthur Rainville will present “Feathered Portraits – the Art of Birding,” when the Paskamansett Bird Club’s May meeting is held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, at the Community Hall of Friends Meeting, 739 Horseneck Road, South Dartmouth.  Celebrating the ‘appreciative eye’ that all birders enjoy, he will share the beauty of avian art in all its forms.

His presentation will show that you don’t have to be a seasoned birder or an expert photographer to make great images. Mr. Rainville will offer tips and tricks to help heighten your birding photography experience , even with your smartphone.

Former Portrait Depart chairman and academic director of the New England School of Photography in Boston, Arthur Rainville has lectured across the country at the fine art museums of Boston, Minneapolis, Dallas and San Diego, and has taught workshops in France, Italy, Greece, Trinidad and Tobago.  He is a prolific author of articles and book. He is the 2019 recipient of the PPA International Helen K Yancy Lifetime Achievement Accolade, only the twelfth such award bestowed by PPA in its 150-year history.

The presentation will include photos taken by many members of the club, as well as Mr. Rainville’s own pictures.
