John H. Pacheco, 82, Tiverton

John H. Pacheco, 82, of Tiverton, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Anne’s Hospital unexpectedly. He was the husband of Judith A. (Welsh) Pacheco.  

Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late John F. and Anita (Henry) Pacheco; he was a lifelong resident of Tiverton and a communicant of Holy Ghost Church.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.  

Mr. Pacheco was a firefighter for the Town of Tiverton for many years.  He was the proprietor of the former North Tiverton Upholstering Co. for many years.

Besides his wife of almost 60 years, he is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ann Cooley and her husband Jeffrey B. of Tiverton and Jeanne M. Racine of Tiverton; four grandchildren, Jason Dupont and his wife Sarah, Peter Racine Jr., Jeffrey I. Cooley and his wife Magda and Jessica A. Cooley; and a great-granddaughter, Zoe.  He was the father of the late John T. Pacheco.

His funeral will be held Friday, Aug. 25, at 10 from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church.  Cremation to follow.  Burial of cremains will be at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St. Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. www.oliveirafuneralhomes.com
