Irene Clark, 79, Tiverton

Irene (Murray) Clark, 79, of Tiverton, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Charles Clark.

Irene was born in Fall River. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Smith) Murray.

She was a bookkeeper for Social Service agencies. Irene loved taking care of children, black powder shooting and attending rendezvous.

Besides her husband Charles of 58 years, she is survived by a son, Richard Alan Clark and his wife Karen of Georgia. She was a sister to Richard Murray of Tiverton, and leaves many nieces and nephews. She also was the sister to the late Edward Murray, Evelyn Walsh, Albert Murray and Barbara LaPlante, Raymond Murray George Murray and Shirley Hart.

Private cremation and burial services are entrusted with the Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway, Fall River.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
