Retired from Hospital Trust Bank, loved the outdoors
Duncan Chapin Merriman, 87, of Tiverton, passed on Sunday, November 5, 2017. He was the husband of Wendy Hill Merriman.
Born in 1931, Mr. Merriman was the son of the late Harold and Jeannette (Sherer) Merriman. He attended Brooks School and was a graduate of Trinity College, class of 1949.
Early on he was employed by Fleet National Bank as a trust officer. He retired in 1986 from the Hospital Trust Investment Department in Providence.
Dunc loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing and boating. He especially looked forward to participating in the traditional corn pudding event with his family.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Katherine Humphrey, Jeannette Brash, Edward Merriman, the late Daniel Merriman, and grandchildren, Katie, Ryan, Todd, Will, Sam, Andrew, Molly, George and Jasper.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waring and Sullivan Funeral Home. The family will hold a service of celebration in July.
