Charlotte J. Sousa, 58, Tiverton

Charlotte J. Sousa (Barker) of Tiverton passed away on January 27, 2018, at the age of 58. Charlotte was born in Newport on September 2, 1959, to her loving parents, Muriel G. (Jean) Barker of Tiverton and the late Robert B. Barker.

Charlotte was a homemaker and raised two sons. Charlotte was loved by many, and will be fondly remembered for her compassion and the joy her beloved cats brought to her. Charlotte lived in many places through her life including Texas, New Jersey, and Maine; but always called Rhode Island her home.

Charlotte leaves behind her sons, Alan D. Sousa and wife Kimberly of Foster; John Sousa and fiance Kristen Damon of Old Orchard Beach, Mane.; sister, Denise Lachapelle of Tiverton; brother, Robert K Barker of Tiverton; grandchildren, Alexander Sousa of Foster, Jackson Sousa of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; nephew, Peter Lachapelle of Tiverton; and nieces, Heather Linnie of Maine and Haley Pereira of Fall River.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 17, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Charlotte’s life. Burial will be private at a later date.
