Charles P. Perry, 92

Charles P. Perry, 92, formerly of Tiverton, passed away on April 29. He was the husband of the late Lorraine M. (Moran) Perry. 

He was the son of the late Anna (Mello) and Charles O. Perry. ]

Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a Printer at Mercury Mail of Pawtucket. He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish and was the founder of the Charlie Perry Band.

He is survived by a daughter, Colleen Ramos (husband Richard), and two grandchildren, Shannon Ramos and Matthew Ramos. He was the father of the late Michael Perry.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, R.I., with a 9 a.m. Mass at Holy Ghost Church. Burial at Pocasset Hill.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
