East Providence Elks hosts Turkey Trot
The East Providence Elks Lodge, located on 60 Berekley St., is hosting a Turkey Trot, open to the public, on Friday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. Turkeys, roasts, shrimp and much more will be raffled. There will also be chances to win a two-night stay at the Sheraton Hotel in Eastham, Mass., on Cape Cod, an I-Pad and cash prizes. please, come one and all to join this fun-filled night. All proceedes from the evening will benefit various charities in the East Providence area.

EPACC hosts pet adoption event
The East Providence Animal Control Center hosts an Adopt-a-thon Saturday, Nov. 17, at its location on 62 Commerical Way from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations of any kind are accepted. Donations may include, but are not limited to: blankets, towels, cat and dog cushions, stainless steel water bowls/buckets, food bowls, toys for all animals, treats for dogs and cats. Any kind of hard or soft dog/puppy and cat/kitten foods (unopened please) is appreciated. Kitty litter and litter boxes small enough to fit in the kennels, dog and cat leashes, harnesses, collars, any type, any size.

We also accept donations for smaller animals such as rabbits, birds, ferrets, etc. Any and all grooming supplies including flea shampoos and applicants, brushes, nail clippers, etc. Or even a gift certificate to a grooming salon of your choice. Pill pockets are always helpful to medicate the animals. Any kind of literature pertaining to the health and well being of animals. Non-colored/dyed newspapers, paper towels, cleaning supplies of any kind, laundry and dish detergent, etc. We are limited on what we have so anything donated helps us out.

E.P. Knights of Columbus hold blood drive
The East Providence Knights of Columbus hold a blood drive Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Council home located at 3200 Pawtucket Ave.. Please spread the word and join us in helping save lives. For each pint donated or attempted to be donated we will give you a free breakfast. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. In fact, 44,000 units of blood are needed every day to meet these needs. Donate blood or sponsor a blood drive this winter. Elks Lodge hosts community events
The East Providence Elks Lodge hosts several events in the coming weeks. Located at 60 Berekley Streeet, the Lodge is holding karaoke night featuring DJ Chase on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 7 to 11 p.m. Come and join the fun and entertainment. In addition, the Elks Lodge Hall is available for rent. Planning a business meeting, birthday or anniversary party, baby or bridal shower and need to rent a hall? Well look no further. EPFOP holds weekly lobster raffle
The East Providence Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge No. 1 conducts a weekly Lobster Raffle at the Trinity Brotherhood Club, 146 Woodward Ave, continuing each Sunday through March at 2 p.m. each afternoon. Weekly prizes also include a 40-inch flat screen television.
