PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School Music Boosters have planned several fundraising projects for the next few months. Money raised ise added to the accounts of individual students who promote the fundraisers and to the Music Boosters account to help pay for equipment and scholarships.
The fundraisers includ the sale of Music Boosters stickers, the sale of frozen pies, a November calendar raffle and the collection of used shoes.
PHS Music Boosters stickers are available for $3 each. Stickers may be placed on a car to show support for the music program. The stickers are being sold at home football games and in the main office of the high school. There is a limited supply.
The pie fundraiser will continue until October 12. Orders will be available for pickup on November 15 at PHS between 2:15 and 5 p.m. There are 16 different frozen varieties including apple, pumpkin, Boston crème, lemon meringue, brownie supreme and more. The calendar raffle, a favorite, costs $10 for 30 chances to win. Each weekday in November a winning name will be drawn and that person will win $25. That name will be returned to the raffle and may be drawn again. On Saturday and Sunday, the winning amount increases to $100. Winners will be notified by e-mail and payouts will be made at the end of November. The coordinator for this event is Christine Wirth. She can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org .
The shoe collection is a new and unique. There are boxes in the band room that will be used to collect used shoes – in good condition, but no flip flops, skates, cleats or heavy work boots. These shoes will be sent to an organization that will pay Music Boosters by the pound for each box. The coordinator for this event is Joe Maioto, who can be reached at email@example.com.
