WESTPORT — The Muir String Quartet will kick off the 16th season of Concerts at the Point, which features six chamber music presentations by world class musicians. In its 34th season, the quartet has long been acknowledged at one of the world’s most powerful and insightful ensembles and is a perennial favorite in Westport. The group, in residence at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts since 1983, includes Peter Zazofsky, violin; Lucia Lin, violin; Steven Ansell, viola; and Michael Reynolds, cello. They will present a program of Mozart – Quartet in D Major, K. 575; Beethoven Quartet in F minor, Op. 95 “Serioso”; and Tchaikovsky Quartet No. 1 in D Major, Op 11.
