A busy summer of tennis for all ages is shaping up at Westport’s Dianne B. Snyder Tennis Complex.

Following is the lineup of 2013 Summer Tennis Programs at the DBSTC:

Adult Tennis League:   League (14 years and over) provides singles and doubles players a competitive outlet to play tennis on a weekly basis with a flexible approach. The season is set to begin week of June 23.  Registration fee is $15/ player whether paying singles, doubles or both. Register by June 19.  Contact Julie at tnbjr@msn.com for information and registration details.

Kids Tennis League:  New this year — for children (14 years and under) who have learned how to play tennis and are looking for the next step of match play.  Youngsters who are at the level of holding rallies and playing points will have fun competing in singles and doubles formats, Wednesday mornings from 9 to 10:30 beginning July 10.  Registration deadline is July 3. Contact Nancy at nancyhartnett@cox.net for more information and registration details.

Kids Learn to Play tennis clinics:  Instructional clinics to introduce the game of tennis to children. Tuesday and Thursday mornings beginning July 9. Register by July 3 for this progressive six-week program, or sign up for the first two or four weeks.  Clinics are 9 to 10 a.m. for kids age 10 and under and 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. for ages  11-14 years.  Contact Lisa at DBSTCtennis@gmail.com for more information and registration details.

Wheelchair tennis clinics:  All welcomed to learn this form of tennis adapted for those who have disabilities in their lower bodies. Balls and rackets are the same, but there are two major differences — they use specially designed wheelchairs and the ball may bounce up to two times.  Monday evenings from 4 to 8 p.m. beginning in June.  Contact Thomas at Thomasd10@aol.com for more information and registration details.

The Dianne B. Snyder Tennis Complex association is dedicated to growing the game of tennis within the Westport community and providing a positive environment to play this great sport — all in keeping with Dianne’s passion for this game.  All proceeds go to costs associated with electricity, programs and continued maintenance of the complex.  Volunteers are always welcome.  For more information on how you can get involved, please contact DBSTCtennis@gmail.com
