ADAMSVILLE – It’s the Grand Opening this weekend, Saturday,  June 14, from 4 to 6 p.m., for Adamsville’s landmark Simmons Cafe and Market at 78 Crandall Road.
The vintage store (it first opened in 1890) had closed at the end of last year, and then re-opened May 10 under new ownership.
The new owner, Jennifer Grantham, has given the establishment a new look, and a decidedly local and organic approach towards the store’s offerings.
In addition to food, produce, meats, merchandise, newspapers, and art, the store features a deli that serves breakfast and lunch sandwiches, coffee and tea, and locally made ice cream (Maple Valley Ice Cream, from Hadley, Massachusetts). Simmons Market and Cafe will be open seven days per week from 7 a.m . to 7 p.m., and later during the summer for ice cream.
