EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce presents its eighth Annual “Touch A Truck,” Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chamber Office Parking Lot, 1011 Waterman Ave.
Admission is $5 per person or $20 for family of four or more. Bring a canned good for local food pantry. Pay at the door or purchase tickets in advance.
Touch-A-Truck is an annual event hosted by the Chamber and is open to the public. It offers members an opportunity to showcase their vehicles and businesses.
Please support this event with a sponsorship or a few hours of your time. We need volunteers at the event to assist with setting up tables, inflating helium balloons, the admission table and raffle sales. This year, we will have over 30 different vehicles. Kids love to climb all over them, and have their pictures taken. Parents appreciate the enclosed space where the event is held, the inexpensive admission fee, and the activities that keep their kids occupied for hours.
Activities and vehicles expected include free rides on The Chamber Choo Choo for all attendees (sponsored Wood’s Heating), Free Face Painting hosted by Evergreen House Health Center, Free Blood Pressure Screenings by Alert Ambulance, Coloring table hosted by Minuteman Press of Seekonk and Dally the Dog, Visits from mascots: Samboni (PBruins,) PawSox mascot, Captain Hemoglobin (R.I. Blood Center), Webster the Puffin (The Children’s Workshop), Andy the Android (Wireless Zone/Verizon Wireless) and Kurt the Bear (Weichert, Realtors-Tirrell Realty), WPRI TV’s Weathermobile, Raffle drawings for kids’ bicycles, PawSox, PBruins and Seekonk Speedway tickets, motor boat, RIPTA bus, oil truck, handicapped accessible van, blood mobile, WWII Jeep, military “deuce and a half” cargo truck, delivery van, tow truck, cement truck, golf cart, smart car, ambulance, and more to be announced!
