WESTPORT — Registration has begun for the sixth annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on Sunday, Oct. 14. Cyclists can enjoy the natural beauty of our region while helping to keep it clean and healthy.

The Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride is a fully-supported cycling event organized by the non-profit Buzzards Bay Coalition. Riders can choose between two picturesque routes; a 75-mile course that begins at Westport’s Horseneck Beach or a 35-mile option that begins at Eastover Farm in Rochester. Both options finish at Quissett Harbor in Woods Hole.

Along the way, riders will enjoy views of beaches, coves, farms and forests. There will be water stations and on-the-road support for riders available all day long. At the finish line, fans will greet the 150-plus riders who will celebrate their accomplishments at a post-ride party complete with food, drinks, live music, complimentary massages, and even smoothies made from a bicycle-powered blender!

The Watershed Ride is a great way for bike riders to get outdoors while raising funds in support of the Bay Coalition’s work to protect and restore Buzzards Bay and its rivers, coves and harbors.  Once registered, riders will have a variety of tools to encourage friends and family to support their ride.
