The Bristol Christmas Festival Committee has a full slate of holiday activities this December to celebrate Christmas. Mark your calendars for the following:
Sunday, Dec. 1
Start your Sunday off with Breakfast with Santa at Mt. Hope High School, from 8 – 11 a.m. Pictures with the Jolly Old Elf will follow, from 9 – 10:30.
Children can also create their very own ornament, get a fingerprint safety package, and enjoy a magic show from 8 a.m. – noon at the high school.
Later on in the afternoon, there will be holiday music entertainment at the Burnside Building on Hope Street, from 4:15 – 4:45.
Then, the Grand Illumination Pre-Show kicks off at 4:45, also in front of the Burnside Building, with caroling, music and entertainment. Extensions School of Dance will perform, as well as the Mt. Hope High School, Guiteras and Rockwell school choirs.
The Christmas Festival Committee will then announce this year’s Spirit of Christmas Award recipient.
Downtown Bristol will officially light up for the Grand Illumination at 6 p.m. Town Administrator Tony Teixeira will read “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” followed by a Christmas music sing-along.
Dec. 6 – 7
Residents are encouraged to participate in the Christmas decorating contest. The judging will take place Dec. 6 – 7.
Sunday, Dec. 8
St. Mary’s Church will host the Many Moods of Christmas at 3 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 16
The Seniors Tour of Bristol Lights will take place from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The tour leaves from the Benjamin Church Senior Center. The Center will also host a visit with Santa Claus after the tour, from 6:30 – 7:30.
Mt. Hope High School chorus will give a performance at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults; children, students and seniors are free.
