St. Andrew’s stages ‘Macbeth’ in Barrington

Macbeth

MacbethMacbeth (left, Marissa Levine) goes sword-to-sword with Macduff (Julia Brown) in William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth,” which is being presented at St. Andrew’s School Friday and Saturday. This dynamic tragedy of power and madness is adapted by theater teacher Joanne Fayan in a one-hour production. Tempted by the prophecies of three mysterious witches, Macbeth’s ambition to be King of Scotland leads him and his wife, Lady Macbeth, into an outlandish world of deceit and murder. “Our adaptation of Shakespeare’s final tragedy, geared for high school students, is filled with the great Shakespearean elements: murder, witches and insanity,” Ms. Fayan said. “Audience and actors alike are together on the stage for a unique and intimate theatrical experience.”
