Portsmouth girls go for state soccer title Saturday

PORTSMOUTH – One more win and the Portsmouth High School varsity girls’ soccer team can kiss those bad memories of previous playoff losses goodbye. The Patriots soundly defeated Mt. Hope High School 5-1 in Wednesday night’s semifinal matchup at Johnston High School, setting up a Division-1 state title game against La Salle Academy, at 3 p.m.

Portsmouth girls’ soccer team shuts out Lincoln

PORTSMOUTH — Freshman striker Marykate McGuire had a goal and three assists in the PHS varsity girls’ soccer team’s 4-0 shutout of Lincoln Monday night.
