A souvenir spoon with a history lesson

Gorham & Co. produced this replica of a silver spoon that was originally presented as a gift from the French to Jabez Bowen, deputy governor of Rhode Island and his family, during the American Revolution.

Q: I inherited this very heavy, large silver spoon from my grandmother. It has the inscription, “Rochambeau to Lt.
