East Providence’s Ponte raises money while running Boston

BOSTON — Rain, strong headwinds and chilly 40-degree temperatures didn’t stop East Providence resident John Ponte, 43, from completing his second Boston Marathon on April 20. Mr. Ponte ran the marathon in support of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to raise awareness and money for cancer patients and their families who face financial hardship while undergoing treatment.
