Newport Creamery fire ruled accidental – restaurant expected to open Wednesday

Officials have ruled Monday’s Newport Creamery fire accidental. Lt. Edward Owens said the fire is believed to be an accidental electric fire. A manager at the store called fire fighters at about 10:15 p.m. Monday after smelling smoke in the basement. The restaurant is expected to be back open Wednesday morning.
