Sales success lands duo in concert front row

PORTSMOUTH — Two local women found a line of products they liked so much that they decided to sell it.

When Emily Rahilly turned 40, she said looked for a product to help with her skin peeling. She turned to her long-time friend, Lisa Davis, who has been selling Arbonne beauty and nutrition products since last March.

Ms. Davis recommended the skin-care and anti-aging line to Ms. Rahilly, who said, "My face got better in four or five days."

With those results, Ms. Rahilly was sold on Arbonne, a U.S. company which has for 28 years developed all-natural products in Switzerland and manufactured them in the U.S.

Ms. Davis, a 20-year registered nurse who now works at Women & Infants Hospital, decided to sell Arbonne because she approved of its chemical-free, botanically-based products.

"It's an extension of my nursing into the community," Ms. Davis said. "To teach people to make better choices, healthier choices."

They teamed up to form Embrace Wellness, LLC, a home-based business in which the women sell the Arbonne line, hold skin-care classes as house visits and at doctors' offices, and teach nutrition and skin-care in schools.

Ms. Rahilly says there is a social aspect that she loves in her new line of work.

"When I hear of a good product, I get on the phone and tell my friends — it goes back to historical roots," Ms. Rahilly said. "We're just showing our friends."

Well, these two women must have shown a lot of friends. They were the top-selling consultants, among 20 others, of the Arbonne line and were rewarded with front-row seats to Tim McGraw's performance at Arbonne's National Training Conference in Atlanta, Ga. this month. They were also given backstage passes to meet McGraw.

Ms. Rahilly said she wouldn't know Tim McGraw from Kenny Chesney — she was excited about meeting Arbonne's president, Rita Davenport.

But Ms. Davis was certainly excited about meeting Tim McGraw. She planned to bring a family photo and one of Day Star, her husband, Carl's band in which he drums.
