Police, fire and rescue logs; week of March 27

Tuesday, March 18

Police investigated a verbal argument among neighbors at a Siegel Street home.

Vera Carvalho, 23, of Providence, was summonsed at the corner of Chestnut Street and Cherry Avenue for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Jason Galuppo, 21, of 42 Opechee Drive, was arrested at the corner of Annawamscutt Drive and Metacom Avenue on a bench warrant for failure to appear on a disorderly conduct charge.

Money, a cell phone and hair products were reported stolen from A Perfect 10 on Metacom Avenue.

Items were reported missing after a breaking and entering on Duffield Road.

A Metacom Avenue resident reported a vandalized mailbox.

A reckless, speeding vehicle was reported on Pagnano Street.

Police investigated suspicious vehicle parked in front of a Terrace Drive house.

Wednesday, March 19

Police transported a man to Newport Hospital from the corner of State and Hope streets, after a building, bar and grounds check.

Kevin Boughton, 45, of 8 Whales Drive, was arrested at the corner of Metacom and Gooding avenues for driving with a suspended or revoked license and on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for driving with a suspended license.

A caller told police a man dressed in all black was walking on the Mt. Hope Bridge. The man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital at the request of East Bay Mental Health officials.

Vandalism was reported to property on State Street.

Police summonsed a 14-year-old at Mt. Hope High School on Chestnut Street on two misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen goods.

A Bristol resident reported theft from a bank account.

A cell phone was reported stolen at the Community Center on Church Street.

Ryan Ringling, 22, of Warwick, was summonsed at the corner of High and State streets for driving with a suspended or revoked license and with a suspended, canceled or revoked registration.

Police investigated a domestic family disturbance at the corner of Gooding avenue and Broadcommon Road.

Thursday, March 20

Police assisted a woman on the corner of Metacom Avenue and Chestnut Street, who said she was being harassed by a person operating a black pickup truck.

Police assisted a man who wanted to speak with officers about juveniles playing in front of his Roma Street house and leaving behind pipes on the street.

Fraud was reported on Tupelo Street.

A caller said an older man was sexually abusing a child in the yard. Police investigated and found the complaint unfounded.

Police reported a complaint of threats against a juvenile on Jennifer Drive, later determined the incident occurred in Seekonk, and contacted the Seekonk Police Department.

Police were called to a disturbance on Bourne Street.

Friday, March 21

Police investigated suspicious activity on Wood Street.

Police investigated suspicious activity on the corner of Metacom Avenue and Chestnut Street.

Police investigated suspicious activity at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics on Metacom Avenue.

Police investigated vandalism to a car parked on Franklin Street, but determined it was caused by a fallen tree.

Police investigated a complaint on Constitution Street from a boy who said his mother took his keys away.

Sivana Frenette, 40, of 2 Ambrose Court, was charged with simple domestic assault and battery.

Police reported offenses against children on Third Street, as a 7-year-old may have been sexually assaulted. Police said the case has been forwarded to detectives and the DCYF for further investigation.

Saturday, March 22

A woman reported her purse stolen from Gillary's on Thames Street.

Joseph Silva, 52, of 115 DeWolf Ave., was arrested at Veterans' Park on Wood Street for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

A syringe and spoon were found on Terrace Drive.

Police reported suspicious activity at the corner of State and Center streets.

Police reported suspicious activity on Sheraton Road, as they found hypodermic needles and three Bristol residents in the area. Police said evidence has been submitted to toxicology and the case and three people are still under investigation.

Police assisted a woman in removing a man who was banging on a second floor apartment door on Lincoln Avenue.

Sunday, March 23

Vandalism was reported to a Sowams Drive property.

Graffiti was sprayed on the gym at Mt. Hope High School.

Vandalism to a vehicle parked in the Prudence Island Ferry lot on Thames Street was reported to police.

A Wapping Drive man told police someone changed the locks on his home, which is in foreclosure.

Police removed an unwanted person on West Street.

Monday, March 24

David Caulder, 40, of 117 Bay View Ave., was arrested on Bay View Avenue on a warrant for failing to appear in district family court.

Police reported a second-degree sexual assault that occurred in 1971. Police said it is still under investigation, there may be some jurisdiction issues and it is not uncommon for people who think they have been assaulted in the past to come forward later.

A DeWolf Avenue boy allegedly used his mother's credit card without her consent.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance on Kingswood Road, as a mother did not want her son to leave home.
