Leaves family in East Providence

John N. Costa, 86, of Wellspring Drive, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Kent County Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of the late Frances R. (DeSilva) Costa.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria Costa.

Mr. Costa was a retired supervisor for the former Ciba-Geigy Company.

He leaves one daughter, Karen E. Thibault of Cranston; one son, Patrolman John M. Costa, Providence Police Department, K-9 Unit, of Cranston; two sisters, Elsie Morreira and Frances Ledo, both of East Providence; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

He was the father of the late Gail Miccolis and the brother of the late Helen Souza.

His funeral was held May 2 from the Perry/McStay Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial followed in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
