Speakout: Week of March 27

I have something to say concerning the water authority. They claim there's no PPCPs in our drinking water but they don't test. My husband and I were riding down the back roads near the farms by the water company and all those swamps have ditches that run all that stuff from the animals into the drinking water.

Did you ever read the paper where there's page after page after page of foreclosures? It seems that some people's solution to this problem is to build a $2 million dog motel. What do you think about that?

Concerning the grave site mementos taken. Why does the town think it can have a double standard. No mementos at grave sites. Look at the Rogers Free Library, Colt School, Andrews School, Pastime. Fences and blockades. It looks like the town dump. Don't forget, $2.2 million for a kennel. Forget the people. There was a movie at the North Burial Ground. They put out the red carpet for them. It's a matter of priority. That's all I can say.

I would like to thank the eyewitnesses who stepped forward and gave statements for a hit and run accident that they witnessed on Sunday, March 16 at approximately 8 p.m. on Catherine Street. A driver of a dark SUV was in such a hurry when they tried to pass my gray car carrying myself, my fiance who has a heart condition, and my two infant children. The driver hit the front driver's side of my car and drove very fast without stopping to see if we were OK. They drove so fast that I was not able to see the whole license plate number. Thankfully everyone was OK. It is the principle of a hit-and-run accident, especially with two infants in the car, that totally shook myself and my fiance up. It is a shame that some people have no conscience, absolutely no regard for human life. You know who you are. You should be ashamed of yourself.

This is a general question. There's been glass in front of Walley School for about a week. Who is responsible for picking it up? Is it the school or the town? Someone should pick it up. Something needs to be done.
