EAST BAY - Here is a weekly listing of pets available for adoption at area animal shelters, as well as contact information and other resources for finding a pet.
Bristol Animal Shelter
* Cats: A spayed female tortie; a long-haired black and white cat; a 20-pound neutered male short-haired black and white cat; a de-clawed, neutered male, orange cat; and a 1-year-old, neutered male, Russian Blue; a short-haired female; and 8-week-old kittens.
* Dogs: An 8-month-old female cattle dog mix; a female boxer mix; and a 4-year-old neutered male collie mix; a female shepard and great dane mix, spayed; and some puppies.
The shelter has a ferret available for adoption.
Accepting donations of canned and dry kitten food, old sheets and towels. They are in desperate need of cat litter.

Sakonnet Veterinary Hospital
* Dogs: Owen, a 3-year-old male shepherd mix; Hukon, 8-year-old male husky, all shots up to date; and Hazel, an 11-month-old female mix, brown and white, very friendly.
* Cats: Simon, a 2-year-old neutered male, short-haired gray and white cat.

Barrington Services for Animals
A white male cat is available for adoption.
* Lost: A large neutered male, black cat, lost on Central Avenue near West Barrington area; a gray, tan and white tortie cat, 18 years old, has a collar and a tag, lost on Washington Road; a male, orange tiger, long-haired cat and a female calico cat, mostly white with black and orange spots, both lost on Sowams Road.
* Found: A gray tiger cat with black stripes and tags, found near Alden Road; and a female tortie cat, found on Riverside Ave.
* If you are in a low-income household and need help paying to spay or neuter your animal, call Debbie at Volunteer Services for Animals in East Providence at 273-0358.
* In need of cat food, especially canned wet cat food. Food donations at Shaw's would be appreciated.
* For more information: Check with Abbott Animal Hospital to see if a lost pet has been dropped there. Call the hospital at 508/336-4430 for lost dogs. For lost and found cats and boarding, call 245-2284.
Warren Animal Shelter
* Cats and kittens: Grumpy, a spayed female, diluted calico; Harry, a 2-year-old black, neutered male; Midnight, a neutered male, black and white tuxedo; Boots and Spiri, two 6-year-old Siamese neutered males; and Mr. Freckles, a neutered male, orange tiger.
* In need of kitten food and cat liter. All services performed at the shelter are done through the courtesy of Helping Hands for Animals, in cooperation with Warren Animal Hospital.

Forever Paws Shelter
* Six dogs: Annunu, a male Siberian, cream and gray salt and pepper, not good with children and small critters; Bernard, a 6-year-old male beagle, friendly and laid back; Oprah, a 2-year-old female Australian cattle dog mix, shy and sweet; Pappie, a 6-month-old male pitbull, dark brindle, lovable, blind in one eye; Amos, a 8-year-old male, black labrador retriever, calm and gentle; and Princess, a female shepherd/rottweiler mix, black and tan, 3 years old, sweet, charming and friendly.
* Cats: Mostly domestic short-hairs and some domestic long- and medium-hairs in assorted colors from 5 months to 17 years. Kittens on occasion.
* All pets are spayed or neutered and up-to-date on shots.
