More than 100 attendees enjoyed live jazz music and catered hors d'oeuvres by l'ame of 195 Franklin. Impressively dressed people came to network and welcome the established business to Bristol, including town officials, local business owners and Schryver's clients from the East and West bays.
"I love the feeling and neighborhood. This was a great move for us," said publisher Lisa Schryver of her company's move from Bellevue Avenue in Newport to the rear third of Bristolian Stephan Brigidi's building.
The company has set up the first floor of suite 3 for storage and the second floor as work and conference space. Schryver Publication produces two annual, 400-plus-page publications, Southern New England Home, which is scheduled to come out in June, and Southern New England Weddings, which is published in December.
"It is the bible for weddings in the region," said Schryver account executive Tracey Becker of the latter.
Mr. Brigidi said Schryver's entrance is great for the town. He said he hopes to fill the remaining 4,400 square feet of 30 Bradford to create a wedding complex with possibly a florist and wedding planner.
"There is finally some creative energy in this 1890s building," he said. "There is a lot of interest to fill the space, much of it from people who were at the party."
