High school targeted by vandals

Barrington High School twice fell victim to graffiti vandals last week. On Tuesday, March 11, a message was discovered spray-painted on the football field and on the bleachers, and two days later a series of question marks appeared scrawled all across school property.

At around 1:04 p.m. on March 11, a school employee called police to report vandalism at the north corner of the football field and the bleachers. The employee told police that someone had spray-painted in black the message: "I use to live in a room full of mirrors and all I seen was me."

On Thursday, March 13, police responded to Barrington High School after reports of an unknown student or students writing question marks in blue ink throughout the school and on the hood of one teacher's car.

The assistant principal had found approximately 30 question marks in classrooms and bathrooms. Next to one of the tags were the words "catch me if you can." The damage has since been removed by school custodians.
