Tiverton receiver, halfback throw scoring passes

Dave Salibi and Coleman LeHoullier each threw a touchdown pass, and neither one is a quarterback, when Tiverton downed North Smithfield 28-8 Saturday afternoon on the loser's home field.

Wide receiver Salibi tossed a 38-yard touchdown pass to quarterback Devin Beck late in the second quarter and Ryan Goyette booted his fourth conversion kick to give the Tigers a 28-0 advantage.

Tiverton's previous second-quarter touchdown came when halfback LeHoullier hit Goyette with a 39-yard scoring toss. Beck didn't throw a touchdown pass but he did reach the end zone twice, the first time on the Tigers' opening drive when he carried the ball final 19 yards. LeHoullier, who finished with 99 yards rushing on 13 attempts, broke free or a 46-yard touchdown scamper later in the first quarter.

Tiverton's defense held the Northmen off the scoreboard until late in the game when the home team scored on a short pass. The Tiverton defense allowed just 154 total yards while the Tigers' offense amassed 280 yards.

Tiverton moved to 2-0 in Division Four while North Smithfield went to 0-2.
