Worked for Gulf Oil, Navy veteran of W.W. II
Roger Gauthier, 82, of Hooper Street, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Green) Gauthier.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Aime A. and Alice (Bouquet) Gauthier, he was a lifelong Tiverton resident.
Mr. Gauthier was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a machinist's mate and attaining the rank of chief petty officer.
He had worked for the Gulf Oil Corp. from 1965 to 1982.
He was a member of American Legion Post 0102, Providence, and a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Boher Council.
Mr. Gauthier was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church.
He leaves two sons, Donald R. Gauthier of Tiverton and Brian Gauthier of Somerset; three daughters, Marlene A. Goguen of Natick, Mass., Sheila M. Canedy of Fall River and Susan L. Halaburda of Bristol; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond A. Gauthier.
His funeralwas held Wednesday, Jan. 21, from Boule Funeral Home, Fall River, with a funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton. Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
