Funeral services for Rose (Rich) Alves were held Thursday, April 15, 2004, from Sansone Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The Rev. Henry P. Zinno Jr. was the celebrant and homilist for the Mass. Christine Pease and Janet Mello were the readers for the Mass and Nicole Laprocina and Brian A. Camara presented the offertory gifts. Stephen Romano was the organist and soloist and Wendy O'Brien was a soloist for the Mass.

Burial followed in North Burial Ground, where Father Zinno read the committal prayers. Rosemarie Arpaia read a poem at the conclusion of the committal prayers. Pallbearers were Steven G. Ferrara, John P. and Brian A. Camara, William Mancieri, Peter G. DiSano and John F. Lunney III. The Rosary and Altar Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church served as an honor guard at the church for the Mass and at the cemetery.

Mrs. Alves, 84, of 41 Mt. Hope Avenue, the wife of George Alves, died Sunday, April 11, at her home.
