John Bowyer

Engineer for merchant marine, small aircraft pilot flew 500 hours

John Bowyer, 88, of Westport died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the widower of Emily (Teixeira) Bowyer.

Born in Oldham, England, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Chadwick) Bowyer. He lived in Westport for 37 years.

Mr. Bowyer was an engineer in the Merchant Marine until he retired.

He acquired his pilot's license for small aircraft and was proud of flying 500 hours.

He leaves several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were by Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, New Bedford.
