Retired chef, Navy veteran of W.W. II
Chester Tarabolski, 86, of Sprague Street, Fall River, died on Thursday May 8, 2008, at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Facility in Fall River. He was the husband of Mary (Ferreira) Tarabolski to whom he had been married 63 years.
Born in Throop, Penn., on May 1, 1922, he was the son of the late Alexander and Michaelina (Rybka) Tarabolski.
Mr. Tarabolski served his county during World War II in the Untied States Navy. He then worked as a chef for White's of Westport and Eileen Darling restaurants for many years. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church in Fall River, a former member of the men's club, and was on the Festival Committee.
Mr. Tarabolski was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing and was an animal enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, Mary Ann Ainley and her husband Joseph of Fall River, Rebecca Ivanson and her husband Gary of Tiverton, Janice Romagnolo and her husband Raymond of Assonet; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Neal, Whitney and Brent; a great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. Chester was pre deceased by five brothers and a sister.
His funeral was held on Tuesday, May 13, at 8 a.m. from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Stanislaus Church, Fall River. Burial with military honors was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus School 36 Rockland St., Fall River, MA 02724.
