Roger Williams University is offering $1,000 to anyone with information about two on-campus incidents of race-related vandalism that occurred on Friday, April 11 and Wednesday, April 16.
The first act, according to Roger Williams representative Brian Clark, was "hateful" graffiti tagged on a residence hall exterior wall.
"The graffiti was of inappropriate racial nature," Mr. Clark said.
The second, according to Bristol Police Lt. Joseph Gonsalves, involved two students' cars being keyed with hateful words inscribed in their paint.
"One was race related and included the 'N' word and the other was just vulgar," he said.
Mr. Clark said the wall has since been cleaned and the reward was first geared toward the campus community but is now extended to anyone who may know anything.
Lt. Gonsalves said Bristol Police detectives are conducting an open investigation. He said the case may be difficult to solve without witnesses coming forward.
Updates will be reported as available.
