Crystal and Melon (above) are two very affectionate domestic short hair cats found living behind Tweet's restaurant in Bristol. Unfortunately, they were probably a dump-off, but these friendly girls are sweet and beautiful! Crystal is about 6 months to a year old and is a lovely calico who has been spayed and had her shots in June. Her companion, Melon, is a buff-colored solid orange cat, a very unusual color. She has a very lovely, friendly personality, loves to be petted and to sit in the window, watching the world go by. Both cats are young and slender, with good dispositions. The foster parent would like to adopt them out together, as they have stayed together since their rescue in June and have become pretty good pals. They will, however, be split up for the right home. Bristol Animal Shelter

* Cats: A spayed female tortie; a spayed female Maine Coon mix; a neutered male domestic short-haired gray tabbie a neutered male domestic long-haired cat, black and white cat; and a spayed female short-haired cat white with gray and peach spots.

* Dogs: A small 10-year old male Chihuahua.

* Accepting donations of canned and dry kitten food, old sheets and towels. They are in desperate need of cat litter.

Sakonnet Veterinary Hospital

Found: A tan female Shar-Pei found on Brackett Road/Old Colony; and a male yellow lab found in Tiverton.

* Found: Blond kitten, approximately 2 months old, long-haired with green eyes. Found on the Barrington bike path.

* Lost: Gray tiger cat, male, big, neutered, declawed. Near High Street.

* Cats and kittens: Lacy, a female tortie; Grumpy, a diluted calico spayed female; Patches, a tan and white spayed female; Tigger, a spayed female tiger; Spooky, a black female; a short-haired, male cat; a black and white kitten; a 1-year old calico cat; Theodore, a short-haired black and white neutered male; Zack a short-haired gray and white male; Daisy, a white and black short-haired female; Pita, a short-haired gray, neutered male; and several kittens 3 to 14-weeks old.

* Found: A 6 to 7-year old spayed female cocker spaniel, red in color, found on Market Street, near the Swansea line.

* 12 Dogs: 1 male Boxer/Hound mix, red & white, 4-5 years old (maybe younger), laid-back all around nice dog; 1 female German Shepherd, black & tan, slightly under 1 year old, friendly but very shy and reserved at first, a loyal companion once she gets to know you; 1 male Pitbull, tan & white, 1-2 years old, tail-waggin' & wiggle-bum friendly; 1 male Pitbull mix, gorgeous mocha color, adult, a very handsome dog, high-energy, friendly, great on leash; 1 male Pug, fawn & black, 8+ years old, adorable big-time couch potato, very friendly; 1 male Pug, fawn & black, 3 years old, very friendly, loves other dogs, high-energy dynamo, a real fun dog ; 1 male Papillon, white & black, 2 years old, high-energy, spunky, needs to be the only dog: 1 male Akita, gray & cream salt & pepper, just under a year old, laid-back, pleasant to walk, friendly, no small animals; 1 male Pitbull, brown & black, about 4 years old, wants to be loved but still very shy, submissive, needs a very gentle and slow hand, lots of promise & potential; 1 female Labrador Retriever mix, black with brindle legs, 1-2 years old, friendly, lots of pep, high energy & zest for life; a typical young lab.

* Cats: Mostly Domestic Short Hairs and some Domestic Long and Medium Hairs in assorted colors, ages from 5 months to 17 years. Kittens on occasion.

* All pets are spayed or neutered and up-to-date on shots.
