Two nine-year-olds beat runners as much as three years older than them to claim the top prize in the 31st annual Fourth of July foot races last weekend.
Jackson Cicchinelli won the sprint at the end to cross the finish line of the one-mile kids run in 6 minutes, 40 seconds, the top overall finisher, just three seconds ahead of second place runner Logan Allen. Lila Jette, 9, who was the fastest female runner, finished fifth overall with a time of 7 minutes, 4 seconds.
