Westport Police: Warrants by the bunch

Friday, March 29 Natasha Amaral, 26, of Swansea was stopped on State Road and charged with driving with a suspended license and revoked registration. At 5:34 p.m., police served an arrest warrant on Kristin M. Deschene, 32, of 40 Sodom Road. Saturday, March 30 Firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire on Drift Road at 2:07 p.m. After a 9:53 p.m. motor vehicle stop on Old County Road, police arrested Valerie Hart, 28, of 407  Old County Road on a warrant. Sunday, March 31 Police responded to a 10:37 a.m. complaint and arrested Kevin C. Norman, 34, of 17 Senechal Drive, Westport, on a warrant. Firefighters extinguished a brush fire on Boysenberry Drive at 9:07 p.m. Monday, April 1 At 1:30 p.m., police arrested Melanie Majewski, 31, of 99 Beechwood Drive,. Westport, on a warrant. A report of a structure fire on Forge Road was received at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 At 2:09 p.m. after an investigation, police arrested Glenn A. Lemar, 46, of 3 Fifth Ave., Westport, on a warrant. A break-in was reported on Drift Road at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 After a 7:16 a.m. motor vehicle stop on Sanford Road, police arrested Rhonda M. Barboza, 45, of 68 Blossom Road, Westport, on a warrant. Friday, April 5 A break-in was reported on Division Road at 9:13 p.m. Saturday, April 6 A break-in was investigated on Fisher Road at 5:24 p.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
