Westport Fishermen prepare for classic boat show
The Westport Fishermen’s Association will hold its third annual Classic Wooden Boat Exhibit on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 13 and 14 from noon to 4 p.m. both days at the Horseneck Point Life Saving Station, 241East Beach Road.
This event is free and open to the public.
The show will feature beautiful and classic hand-built boats in and around the Life Saving Station and across the street on the landing. Inside the visitor center will be hand-crafted models built by Bruce Gifford and Bob Baker.
New this year will bee a small exhibit of local fisherman John Borden’s working skiffs set up and ready for the scallop season.
Refreshments will be served, and the show offers a chance to chat with some of the craftsmen who built these fine boats.
