Westport Family Medicine opens new facility

Westport Family Medicine has opened a new state-of-the-art family practice facility at 827 American Legion Highway in Westport. The practice was previously located at 829 Main Road in the town's Central Village.

Part of Southcoast Physicians Group, the practice includes Scott Lauermann, MD, Jane Li, MD, and Mark Richard, NP, and welcomes Uma Kolli, MD.

The new facility is open and offers patients walk-in appointments as well as outpatient services.

Dr. Lauermann, who has practiced in the Westport community for 29 years, said, “Patients will benefit from both the accessibility of the new location and from the new, state-of-the-art facility. The new building is four times the size of the former location, enabling us to add outpatient laboratory blood draw and radiology diagnostic X-ray services on site. The size of the new facility also allows us to bring new physicians to our team … to better serve a growing population.”

Dr. Kolli holds a doctorate of medicine from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. She completed her family medicine residency at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, an affiliate of Brown University, where she served as an associate chief resident. She currently holds the position of clinical assistant professor of family medicine on the faculty at Brown University.

Dr. Kolli is board certified in family medicine and is fluent in Hindi and Telugu. Her areas of special interest include women’s health and diabetes. She is accepting new patients.Westport Family Medicine is accepting new patients.
