Warren police seek bank robber


Police are looking for a man who robbed the Bank of Newport branch at 323 Market St. on Monday afternoon, April 29.

Warren police were called to the branch at about 2:14 p.m. for a report of a robbery. Video surveillance they reviewed later shows the suspect, a white man wearing a black sweatshirt, tan hat, pair of red gloves and sunglasses, enter the bank and approach the teller. No weapon was shown and the suspectleft the bank with an undisclosed amount of currency.

Warren police ask that anyone with information call the police department's detective division at 245-1311. Also, anyone who may have been traveling on Schoolhouse Road at the time of the robbery, and who witnessed a car turning around in the road at the bank, is asked to call the police.
