Warren police logs: Woman spots black bear

Monday, July 17

Santos Quesada Alvarado, 26, of Providence, was arrested on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant following a traffic stop on Metacom Avenue at 11:37 a.m.

A caller told police that two people were passed out in a car parked on Metacom Avenue. Police reported that one passenger was eating and the other sleeping.

Scott M. Mullin, 36, of 539 Child St., Apt. 2, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant, a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant, and charged with driving without or on an expired license, third or subsequent offense, after he allegedly struck a utility pole on Child Street at 12:16 p.m. Mr. Mullin was seen walking away from the accident but police located and picked him up just over an hour later.

A caller reported that two dogs were walking loose on the Warren Town Beach.

Police got a complaint that a juvenile was setting of fireworks in a Main Street parking lot.

A caller spotted a coyote on Harris Avenue.

Police were called to a Main Street establishment after a caller reported that an intoxicated man had his head on the table. They brought him home.

Tuesday, July 18

A Child Street resident complained that mud from a nearby construction project was splashing onto his property.

A Seymour Street resident complained about a loud rooster.

Justin G. Silvia, 30, of 42 Croade St., was picked up on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant.

Andrew E. Stanzione, 29, of 394 Metacom Ave., Apt. 1, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license.

Nicholas Tavares, 34, of 66 Washington St., Apt. 2, was arrested on a Second Division District Court bench warrant after a Beach Street woman complained that he was sleeping on her porch at night. Police had earlier issued a no trespassing order.

Police searched around the Kickemuit River area for a black bear after a Read Avenue woman reported seeing one in her neighborhood at about 8 p.m.

A Baker Street woman asked that police remove a man from her apartment. They arrived and brought him to his home in Bristol.

Wednesday, July 19

A woman called from Metacom Avenue to report that someone threw a brick at her car.

A caller apparently unhappy with his food at a Child Street restaurant called police seeking a refund. Police suggested he talk with employees at the restaurant.

A loud music complaint came in from Child Street. It turned out to be a band sound-checking for their performance at Burr’s Hill that night.

A Beechwood Court man reported fraudulent activity on his credit card.

Fire crews put out a fire at a Main Street apartment at 10:50 p.m., 11 minutes after receiving the call.

Thursday, July 20

A Harris Avenue woman called with concerns about the well-being of her neighbor’s dogs. The animal control officer found no problem; they were sheltered properly and had water, he noted.

Friday, July 21

A Seymour Street resident called police just before 6 a.m. to complain that a neighbor’s rooster had been crowing since 3 a.m.

A Canario Drive woman reported a possible telephone scam.

A woman asked for a police escort to keep the peace while she retrieved her dog from her ex-boyfriend’s residence on Metacom Avenue.

Brian P. Gale, 43, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after an accident at Kickemuit Road and Everett Street at 10:36 p.m.

Saturday, July 22

A Market Street resident complained about door to door solicitors.

Kyle R. Lamountain, 26, of 6 Greenhouse Court, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court bench warrant.

Sunday, July 23

Mark H. McVay, 58, of Bristol, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license.

A loud music complaint came in from Union Street at 1:16 p.m.

Lucy McCulley, 64, of 389 Child St., was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license.
