Warren police logs: Two charged in theft of road signs

Monday, April 16
A man complained that someone sideswiped his car on Main Street.
Police got a call about a man in a hooded sweatshirt carrying a television down Seymour Street. Police checked it out and the man was helping move the TV.
A woman complained about a man who was harassing her at her place of employment in Warren.
Christopher J. Machado, 22, of Bristol, was charged with failure to stop at an accident after he hit a fence on Arlington Avenue and drove into Bristol. Bristol police tracked him down shortly thereafter.
Tuesday, April 17
A constable reported that he was assaulted while serving papers to a woman on Child Street. Meanwhile, the woman reported being assaulted by the constable. Police checked it out and determined that no assault had taken place.
A Bradford Street man reported that someone took out a fraudulent account in his name.
A Wood Street man told police that his wife had assaulted him.
Darryl P. Larrivee, 30, of Providence, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, after police pulled him over on Main Street just before midnight.
Wednesday, April 18
Police got a call about one student threatening another at the Hugh Cole School.
Alfred J. Grundy, 51 of 317 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2, was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and resisting arrest after police got a call from an employee at a Market Street business, who said he had surveillance footage showing a shoplifter earlier in the day. Police identified the suspect as Mr. Grundy and went to his home, where he allegedly resisted.
Thursday, April 19
Police got a call about students sending harassing text messages back and forth but referred it to Bristol police, as the issue apparently occurred in that town.
A Wood Street resident complained about a barking dog.
Friday, April 20
Jason M. Braz
, 37, of 14 Fales Road, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license after police pulled him over on Meadow Street at 6:43 p.m.
Saturday, April 21
A resident helping with the town’s Earth Day cleanup found a purse on the side of Poverty Corner Road and turned it in to police. Apparently the purse was reported stolen last year; police contacted the owner who said she’d come in to pick it up.
Andrew E. Stanzione, 30, of 394 Metacom Ave., Apt. 1, was arrested on a bench warrant from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.
A School Street woman called police to tell them she could not find her pocketbook.
A caller reported several dogs running loose at the Warren Town Beach.
A Kickemuit Road woman complained that her neighbors were playing music too loudly.
A Davis Street woman told police that a man she invited over stole her car. Police put out a notice to other departments to be on the lookout.
Sunday, April 22
Someone complained that a vandal spray-painted the Stop sign at Water and Miller streets.
Paul G. Braz, 23, of Bristol, was charged with larceny under $1,500 and Jared C. Roscoe, 22, of Bristol with vandalism/malicious injury to property, after a caller reported a suspicious Jeep. She speculated that the occupants may have taken down a Stop sign at Colonial Drive and Paul Court.
Police got a call about a Stop sign that had been pulled out of the ground at Harris Avenue and Center Street.
A Child Street resident called to complain that a neighbor was using polyurethane outside, as well as in the building.
Items were reported stolen from a car parked on Kathleen Drive.
A Libby Lane caller reported a loose goat on the road. The animal control officer reported that the owner “was able to get the goat.”
Police got a call about a man who may have exposed himself on the East Bay Bike Path.
Someone reported finding a hypodermic needle on Main Street.
