Warren police logs: Rescuers administer Narcan to overdose victim

Monday, Dec. 11

Police got a call about a man walking up to cars stopped on MEtacom Avenue. Police spoke to him and learned that he was trying to sell bible scriptures. They dispersed him.

Pedro J. Gomez, 27, of Providence, was charged with being a fugitive from justice out of Seekonk, and driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over at Market Street, near Grove Avenue, at 4:13 p.m.

Luis C. Avila, 49, of 30 Federal St., was turned over to Providence police on an active warrant out of that city.

Rescue crews administered Narcan, an anti-opioid, to a woman that may have overdosed at a Metacom Avenue address.

Tuesday, Dec. 12

A Main Street resident reported being harassed by another tenant.

An Overhaul Road resident called police about bats flying around in the attic.

A woman called police to report that her son was having an argument with his ex-girlfriend.

Tracy Connor, 40, of 10 Overill Road, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, BAC .15 or greater, after she was involved in an accident at Metacom Avenue and Libby Lane at 2:04 p.m.

A Child Street resident reported the theft of an iPhone.

A Touisset Road man told police that someone removed a lawn decoration from his front yard.

Wednesday, Dec. 13

A bicycle was reported stolen from Main Street.

Stephanie L. Ferreira, 41, of 51 Laurel Lane, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct after police got a call about an argument between her and her estranged husband.

A kayak was found washed up along Water Street.

Thursday, Dec. 14

A Kinnicutt Avenue man complained to police that a man posted harassing comments on his Facebook page.

A Bay Road man reported that his father hadn’t returned from a cruise as expected. The family reported two hours later that the man was still at sea; they’d gotten his return date incorrect.

Friday, Dec. 15

A coyote was spotted on Market Street just before 7 a.m.

Graham Taylor Garvie, 59, of 163 Market St., first floor, was charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of marijuana, one ounce or less, after a car stop on Child Street at 3:18 p.m.

A package was reportedly taken from the front steps of a home on Market Street.

A panhandler was reported on Water Street, but was gone on police arrival.

Saturday, Dec. 16

A Norbert Street woman complained that her upstairs neighbors had been doing laundry all night.

The fire department went to William Avenue to assist with a cat stuck in a tree.

A caller reported an argument on Market Street.

A caller from Norbert Street told police that her ex-boyfriend refused to leave the house.

A Brown Street man reported the theft of his camera.

A caller reported two men looking inside cars, but police determined the men were helping gain access to a relative’s car; he’d locked the keys inside.

A worker at a Main Street restaurant reported a customer using a fake ID.

Sunday, Dec. 17

A coyote was spotted walking around residences at Kinnicutt and Denver avenues.

The manager of the CVS on Metacom Avenue asked that police issue a no trespassing order for a frequent shoplifter.

A caller from the laundromat on Main Street told police that a man attempted to pass a fake $20 bill. Police seized the bogus currency and allowed the man, who initially was not causing a problem, to stay and finish his laundry. A few minutes later, the clerk called back and said that the man demanded his $20 back and was acting belligerently.

Monday, Dec. 18

Alfred J. Grundy, 51, of 37 Child St., was picked up on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant.
