Warren police logs: Possum in a pot


Monday, Feb. 24

Someone on Brownell Street forgot to close a car door before heading in for the night. Police discovered it open when they drove by at 2:38 a.m.

Police got a call about a possum trapped in a flower pot in a Water Street yard. The animal control officer freed it with no problem.

Police got a call about a low-hanging wire on Water Street. Turns out they were town lights left over from Christmas; the DPW was notified.

Police got a call about a barking dog on Main Street.

Marilyn J. Medeiros, 49, of 119 Child St., first floor, was charged with violating a protective order.

Police were called to a restaurant on Miller Street for a misunderstanding over a food bill. An officer talked to the manager, and the matter was resolved.

Police went out to Davis Street for a dispute between neighbors.

A loose dog call came in from Child Street.

An unruly juvenile call came in from Main Street.

A woman on Metacom Avenue reported that people above her were fighting. No clarification of whether she was speaking figuratively or literally.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

Joseph Paul Santos, 45, of 348 Child St., first floor, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant. There was no record of the warrant on the state’s criminal information database.

People were reportedly being rowdy on Market Street.

Timothy Dubois, 21, of 132 Water St., was arrested on a warrant issued by Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

Police got a call about a fight between parent and daughter on Child Street.

Jewelry was reported stolen on Metacom Avenue.

Thursday, Feb. 27

A woman on Laurel Lane reported the violation of a no contact order.

An anonymous caller reported a possible domestic disturbance at a Child Street address. It turned out to be a TV that had been turned up loudly.

Friday, Feb. 28

Someone called police at 5:12 a.m. about a woman sleeping in her car on Frank Court. Turned out she was waiting for a friend.

Donald L. Cunningham, 36, of 80 Seymour St., was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant. Records indicate he has an outstanding felony charge of possession of controlled substances brought by East Providence police.

Police got a call from Mulberry Street about pornography mailed to a juvenile.

Saturday, March 1

A loud music call came in from Maple Street at 1:05 a.m.

Sunday, March 2

A Laurel Lane resident reported having an ongoing problem with the neighbor’s dog.

Police went out to Market Street for an argument between neighbors.
