Warren police logs: Possible wolf sighting reported

Monday, Sept. 11

A resident reported graffiti on a Main Street building.

A woman called to report a dog barking on Main Street.

A Croade Street resident reported being harassed.

A caller from Martin Street complained about a cat screaming loudly.

A Coomer Avenue woman complained that her daughter was getting harassing messages on her cell phone.

A Fernwood Court woman asked for the police’s help after a dog started barking outside her door. An officer arrived and took the dog back to its home.

Tuesday, Sept. 12

Corey T. Towns, 27, of Providecne, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over on Water Street just after 6 a.m.

A Child Street resident reported a missing scooter.

A resident complained about having a run-in with a clerk at the DMV. Neither side wanted to file charges.

Loose chickens were spotted roaming Stuart Street.

An Uber Driver who accidentally drove off with a woman’s belongings after dropping her off at Oyster Point returned shortly thereafter.

An employee at a Metacom Avenue establishment reported spotting a fake ID shown by a customer.

Wednesday, Sept. 13

Jason A. Maciel, 24, of Providence, was arrested on a Rhode Island Family Court warrant after a traffic stop on Metacom Avenue just before 6 a.m.

An employee at a New Industrial Road business reported the theft of equipment from a former employee. The caller said the company would try to recover the equipment before pressing charges.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Chace Avenue at 8:35. Turns out the driver had pulled over to place a phone call.

An Ellis Avenue man complained that a neighbor’s dog would not stop barking.

Thursday, Sept. 14

Melanie C. Resendes, 21, of Bristol, was charged with purchasing or procuring alcohol for a minor.

A caller said he received a fraudulent check from Publisher’s Clearing House.

A woman reported that her daughter was receiving harassing phone calls.

A caller from Fatima Drive told police that a man was flying a drone around the neighborhood.

A Sisson Street woman complained that someone threw a rock through her window. Police determined that the damage was from a cement wall that had collapsed adjacent to the window.

Police got several calls about a disturbance on Baker Street, but discovered that it was just a loud family gathering.

Friday, Sept. 15

A woman struck a deer on Schoolhouse Road. The animal fled into the woods.

A bike was reported stolen from Main Street.

A caller reported that people were using drugs while driving a car.

Eric D. Greene, 47, of Bristol, was charged with two counts of simple assault and one of disorderly conduct, after police got a call about two men fighting on Laurel Lane.

A Child Street woman reported thither boyfriend wouldn’t let her in.

Scott M. Mullin, 36, of 539 Child St., Apt. 2, wa charged with felony domestic assault, felony assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone, and domestic disorderly conduct, after police got a call at 11:35 p.m. that a man and woman were arguing on Child Street.

Saturday, Sept. 16

A caller from Long Lane complained about a neighbor’s loud music.

Two pit bulls reported as being loose on Metacom Avenue were found tied up properly in the owner’s yard, the animal control officer reported.

A caller reported being stalked by his ex-wife and her husband.

Police went to Metacom Avenue for a landlord/tenant dispute.

Sunday, Sept. 17

A Central Avenue woman reported a house party with what appeared to be underage kids.

A Virginia Street woman complained that a neighbors’ dog went to the bathroom in her yard. She told police her husband threw the waste back into the dog owner’s yard.

Jospeh A. Opielawski, 31, of East Providence, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant.

Erica E. Gillette, 27, of 15 Martin St., was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant.

A caller asked for a police escort while retrieving items from her ex-boyfriend’s home.

Someone called in a Dumpster fire on Metacom Avenue.

A wolf may have been sighted on Hanley Farm Road. Warren police advised their counterparts in Bristol.

Monday, Sept. 18

A caller complained about a man smoking and acting suspiciously just after 9:30 a.m. on Market. Police determined the man was waiting for a ride.
