Warren police logs: Police called to suspected overdose

Monday, April 10

A man found a hypodermic needle on Miller Street and contacted the police.

Police got a call about an unruly juvenile on Overhill Road.

A caller reported that a possible drunk man was stumbling around a parking lot on Main Street. The call came in at 5:30 p.m.

A caller complained that a person fishing on the Kickemuit River was feeding swans.

Police investigated a man and woman who were seen smoking a “suspicious substance” while walking on the bike path between Hope and Wood streets. Turns out they were using a nicotine ‘vaping’ device.

A mother and daughter got into it on Child Street, and the police were called out.

Tuesday, April 11

A caller told police that a man in a white pickup truck was throwing objects at a swan tending its nest at Serpentine and Schoolhouse roads.

Police reunited the owner with his lost wallet, which had been recovered on Main Street.

Wednesday, April 12

Cody J. Thomas, 20, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense, BAC .15 or greater, after police pulled him over on Kickemuit Road at 1:12 a.m.

Police dispersed a woman from a Market Street apartment after a man reported that she was causing problems.

Police picked up Shelby L. Ennis, 29, of Swansea, on a warrant for domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

Police got a call that a man and woman were arguing in the middle of Wood Street.

A caller from Asylum Road complained about kids on dirt bikes.

Thursday, April 13

Police were called to Kickemuit Road for a possible overdose.

A caller complained that a man on a motorized scooter was dragging a dog on a leash north on Metacom Avenue, toward Child Street.

The rescue was called out to Railroad Avnue for a person with a ring “stuck on their finger.”

In other ring news, a caller from Butterworth Drive told police he believes a ring was stolen from his home.

A man took  a bike out from the bike shop on Cole Street and didn’t return. It police noted the bike was returned later that day.

An Almeida Drive told police that someone may have tried to break into his garage overnight.

Friday, April 14

Devon A. Gomes, 23, of 427 Child St., second floor, was arrested on a warrant for domestic disorderly conduct.

Saturday, April 15

Police got a call about a man yelling on Market Street just after 2 a.m.

A woman reported a possible scam; a caller purporting to be from Cox Communications told her she owed money; she told police she’s current on her bills.

Police got a call about an off-road vehicle operating at Jamiel’s Park.

Police got a call about a possible drunk driver on Metacom Avenue. A search turned up nothing.

Sunday, April 16

A caller from Manning Street complained that someone was flying a drone over his home.

Police got a call about a drunken man walking down Birch Swamp Road. Police turned him over to his roommate.

Cattle made a break for it and ended up loose on Libby Lane.

A market Street man reported being harassed by his ex-girlfriends.

Police got a call about a possible drunk driver. They tracked the plate to the registered owner’s home and found the car parked in the driveway.

Monday, April 17

A caller from Barden Lane complained about a suspicious man walking in and out of yards. Turns out he’d lost something in the area the night before and was looking for it.

An Old Market Street resident spotted a fox in the backyard and called the police.
