Monday, July 9

A Metacom Avenue resident reported damage to a fence.

A caller from Lyndon Street reported hearing screaming; it turned out to be a parent and children playing in a nearby pool.

Alyssa M. Donnelly, 20, of Exeter, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, second offense, after police pulled her over on Kickemuit Road at 12:30 p.m.

A Metacom Avenue woman told police that her husband was violating a restraining order.

A Katie Drive woman called police after capturing a bat in her home.

A Blackthorne Lane woman reported being harassed on social media.

James M. Medeiros, 36, of 379 Metacom Ave., second floor, was picked up on a warrant for violating a restraining order.

A Child Street man told police that his ferret found a hole in a wall in his home and might be stuck inside. About 45 minutes later the caller reported that the ferret ferreted itself out.

A Sisson Street resident complained about fireworks.

Tuesday, July 10

A caller reported that while walking down the side of Arlington Avenue he looked toward a house and saw what appeared to be a man standing nude on a porch.

Tre C. Jones, 25, of Providence, was arrested on a warrant and also charge with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, first offense, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 1:33 p.m.

A man went to police to complain that a car was driving frequently past his house.

A Kickemuit Road man reported to police that his son ran away from home after being grounded. The boy came home 13 minutes after dad’s initial phone call.

Wednesday, July 11

A purse was found on Railroad Avenue, police reported.

A Union Street woman called police after an unwelcome guest refused to leave her apartment.

Kevin Griffin, 48, of Newport, was picked up on a warrant out of Cranston and turned over to officers in that city.

Thursday, July 12

A Market Street resident reported being harassed by a daughter’s boyfriend.

An Emery Road resident reported receiving obscene telephone calls.

An employee of a Market Street establishment contacted police after a customer mistakenly left her purse behind.

Police got a call about a man and woman arguing at the corner of Main and Market streets.

Fire crews advised a Wilbur Avenue man to douse a fire; he’d been burning branches in a fire pit out back.

A man called police to report that his ex-girlfriend had his current girlfriend’s iPad. Police spoke with the woman, who agreed to return it.

Friday, July 13

A walk-in told police that it appeared that two deer had gotten caught between fencing on a Main Street property. The animal control officer reported that they were grazing and looked to be in good health.

A loud music complaint came in from Long Lane.

A caller from Sowamsett Avenue complained about a neighbor’s fire pit, which was sending smoke into her home. Police spoke to the neighbor, who agreed to put out the fire.

Donna Phillips, 48, of Barrington, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled her over at Main and Dyer streets at 8:55 p.m.

A caller from Dyer Street complained about fireworks and a neighbor’s back yard party.

Saturday, July 14

A Wood Street woman complained at 12:11 a.m. that her boyfriend kicked her out of the apartment.

A caller complained to police at 3:20 a.m. that two moped drivers dressed in black were loitering around a closed gas station on Main Street. The men told police they were looking to fuel up.

Police got a call from a person who reported seeing a man trying to get a young girl into a car. It turned out to be a parent/child matter.

A Leonard Street woman told police that someone broke into her screened porch and stole her bike.

Jane E. Lawandy, 60, of West Warwick, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, first offense, after police pulled her over on Main Street.

A Luther Street woman reported unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account.

A caller from Libby Lane complained about the sound of fireworks.

Sunday, July 15

A Kinnicutt Avenue resident reported receiving harassing e-mail.

Jason Jonathan Ledoux, 38, of 19 Birchswamp Road, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, after police received a call at 12:15 p.m. about a male passed out behind the wheel of a car on Market Street.

An Almy Avenue resident spotted a groundhog under her car and called police.

A Main Street woman reported being harassed by her ex.

A caller complained about people lighting off fireworks on the East Bay Bike Path.
